What is Amnesty?
Amnesty International is a 43-year-old NGO focused on human rights around the world. Its three primary missions are to free prisoners of conscience (defined as political prisoners who have neither used nor advocated violence); to obtain fair trials for all political prisoners (whether or not they have used violence); and to abolish the death penalty in all cases.
