The University of Tulsa BLGTA has tree main purposes: to support, to educate, and to empower. We consider these areas integral to building a stronger and healthy community whose members participate in and contribute to both the community and the society in general
TU BLGTA offers a support system for all bisexual, lesbian, gay transgender,
and people that are friendly to the community students of the University
of Tulsa. At our weekly meetings we strive to be open to all concerns of
our members and discuss the matters, personal and communal, facing the community.
The BLGTA hopes to create an atmosphere which is conducive to open discussions
and mutual support. In order to maintain the openness, BLGTA holds confidentiality
is up most important. Our meetings are strictly confidential, as are our
membership lists and a person's sexual orientation. We do not hand out information
with out the consent of that person. Because we realize that not everyone
is at the same place regarding his or her sexuality, we are especially welcoming
to those who are in the process of coming out and also to those who are,
in general, unsure of there sexuality. We also welcome those that are friendly
and supportive to the Bi Lesbian Gay Transgender community.
