Welcome to LAHSA’s home on the web!

LAHSA is a DIVERSE student organization aimed at uniting the Hispanic community at the University of Tulsa, promoting awareness to anyone interested in the Hispanic culture, and using our resources to help our surrounding community. We also participate with other student organizations at TU to unite the student body. Currently we have members from Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Cuba, Spain, and the US!

Update December 15th, 2004  -  Finals are finally over and winter break is finally here! Last Tuesday we had our last meeting for the semester and we had a dinner at Zios and “elected” new officers. Talisha will be graduating tomorrow, and our new President will be Mercedes. See the members section soon for all new officers. Also, all the pictures from “Noche Buena” are up!

 

Update December 3rd, 2004  -  On Tuesday’s meeting we decided that we will donate the toys to Catholic Charities of Tulsa. Posters are up. Don't forget! Party tomorrow at Fountains restaurant on 65th and Lewis!! Bring your toys.

 

 

 

Update November 28th, 2004  -  Back from Thanksgiving break, we will have a meeting at 9pm on Tuesday Nov, 30th, same place as always. “Noche Buena” is this Saturday! Click here for more details.

 

 

 

Update November 15th, 2004  -  No meeting tomorrow, Nov. 16th. This Saturday Nov. 20th, Roberto, Emilia, and Ricardo will be representing LAHSA at the Latino Leadership Conference at OU.

 

 

 

Meeting November 9th, 2004  -  Here’s a brief overview of the meeting:  Mercedes took Talisha’s place as our president was not able to attend last night. We discussed what each of us are going to bring on Thursday for the two tables were going to have at the International Bazaar representing both Mexico and Venezuela. Also:

· OSU Tulsa is having a Cultural Night on Nov. 19th featuring arts and talents displays, an International fashion show, and an ethnic dinner of Indian Cuisine. Click here to visit their site.

· Saturday, November 20th from 10pm to 1am the band Salsa Rhythm Project will play at Iguanas.  $3 cover.

· Dec. 1st is World AIDS Day and the organizers (The Peer Education Program, along with the National AIDS Fund Member on campus) are looking for some help. More Info

· We are planning on a formal/semi-formal party on Dec. 4th with live music, possibly at Fountain’s.

· Dec. 20th - 23rd, Salvation Army will need bilingual volunteers from 8am to 1:30pm.
