Dear Sisters, Alumnae, and Guests,

Welcome to the Delta Pi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at the University of Tulsa. Thank you so much for the time to learn more about our chapter, members, and organization.

Here at Delta Pi our members continue to live up to Kappa’s motto, “Tradition of Leadership” by our campus and academic involvements. Members are involved in University Ambassadors, Student Association, Panhellenic, The Peer Education Program, Mortar Board, Order of Omega, intramural sports, and many more organizations. We have a diverse group of majors ranging from Engineering to Russian studies and everything in between!

We also give of our time and talents through our different service activities. We support Kappa Kappa Gamma’s philanthropy through Philanthropy 1-2-3. By this philosophy we first support our Kappa Foundation, second our campus beneficiaries, and third Reading Is Fundamental (RIF). We help with Habitat Humanity Build days, read weekly to elementary school classes, visit children in the hospital, participate in Relay For Life, and help with RIF distributions at Lindbergh Elementary School. Every fall we hold our Kappa Klassic Dodgeball Tournament which is always fun and exciting. All proceeds raised from that event go the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

As I get ready for my senior year I can say I am truly thankful for all the support and many opportunities Kappa has given me and will continue to given me in my years as an alumna. It is hard to explain the bonds of sisterhood without experiencing it. However, to me sisterhood is laughing with your sisters till your stomach hurts, having a shoulder to cry on, study breaks in the kitchen, endless talks in the back lounge, and a smile when you need it most.

There is a quote that I believe sums up perfectly what I have gained form Kappa, “Kappa is, I suppose, a kind of evolution….In the end, Kappa could only be a better way to stumble up the back steps and walk proudly out the front doors.” I know my life as a college student will soon come to an end. However, what I have gained from Kappa will allow me to walk into the real world with my head held high.
