Society Mission

Alpha Epsilon Delta is the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society dedica ted to the encouragement and recognition of excellence in preprofessional health scholarship, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary, and others. The Society welcomes ALL students engaged in the pursuit of a professional healthcare career. AED offers opportunities for intellectual and professional development, provides a forum for students with common interests, and extends a program of service to benefit the college/university community.

Alpha Epsilon Delta is affiliated with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.

Requirements for Membership

1. You must have completed at least 45 hours of college credit.
2. You must have a minimum of a 3.2 science GPA.
3. You must complete the following as a member:

  • - Attend Dr. Reeder Talk at least once or schedule a private meeting with your Pre-Medical Advisor
  • - Attend at least 3 AED presentations or shadowing opportunities by local physicians
  • - Attend 1 AED Social Function
  • - Attend 1 Medical School Presentation or arrange a visit to 1 medical school campus
  • - Perform 6 total hours of community service with or without AEDs

 

4. You must fill out a membership record form and have it turned by specified date prior to initiation.
